Christians Against Poverty - Job Club

Christians Against Poverty [CAP] Job Club

Over the past year, we at Doxford Place Methodist Church, have been exploring the possibility of partnering with Christians Against Poverty to run a Job Club.

Job Clubs are part of the CAP network, running alongside their Debt Advice Service to help those who are unemployed get back into work and out of debt and poverty.

The opening of The Hope Centre in Cramlington Town Centre, by St Nicholas’ Church provided further impetus to this idea, and matters are now coming to fruition.

We are launching the service on Tuesday 25th February 2020 (Shrove Tuesday) at 1.00 pm, and publicity is now being circulated.

Gordon Summers (Coach) and Eric Brook (Manager) spent a very hectic two days at CAP headquarters in Bradford in November training for our roles in the Club.

We are both excited about this project and hope that others can catch the vision. Our message is “Watch this Space!”

The service will be based at The Hope Centre in Forum Way, Cramlington and will be part of the centre’s mission of showing the love of Jesus to the community. If you know of someone who might benefit, please pass the message on, and get in touch with us.

Contact phone numbers are :-

Eric : 07387 874804        Gordon : 07494 991783

Hopefully the service will grow and we will need more volunteers to work alongside us. Volunteers must be willing to be trained by CAP, at their Headquarters in Bradford- requiring an overnight stay.

Most of all, keep us in your prayers.
